Data Visualization in Auto Insurance Claims
In my data visualization class, I conducted an in-depth project using Tableau to analyze and derive meaningful insights from a dataset provided by a theoretical auto insurance company. The dataset included key variables such as age, gender, parental status, marital status, education level, claim frequency, claim amount, car make, car year, car use (commercial or private), and coverage zones (ranging from urban to suburban).
Leveraging these data points, I crafted a unique and compelling story about the auto insurance industry. By exploring the relationships and trends within the data, I identified patterns in claim frequencies and amounts across different demographics and vehicle characteristics. For instance, I examined how factors such as age and marital status influence claim behaviors, and how vehicle use and coverage zones impact claim costs.
My analysis revealed significant insights into the risk profiles of various driver segments and the potential impact of demographic factors on insurance claims. These insights provide a deeper understanding of how different variables interplay within the auto insurance industry, offering valuable perspectives for policy development and risk management.
I invite you to explore my comprehensive Tableau presentation, where I visually represent these findings and delve deeper into the story behind auto insurance claims.
